English summary: I tested Northstar Trillium and compared it to my today's favourite: a Finnish C1 Kolibri. Kolibri is slightly shorter, slightly wider and couple inches taller in front. Otherwise they are very similar.
Both canoes travelled easily. I have paddled several times a 100 km (62 mile) marathon event, Vöhandumaraton, in Southern Estonia. In 2015 I had Kolibri and this year Trillium. Paddling time was with both canoes within one minute! But this year the weather was really extreme: snow, hail, pouring water and nasty gusts. The ease of paddling Trillium helped me a lot to even finish the event.
I have had several David Yost designed solo canoes. And I have liked them all very much. I was happy to hear from Northstar Canoes, that Trillium is also Davi Yost design. Could not be better.
Trillium is as ready a canoe for tripping and daily outings as canoe can be. Worth every penny.
Congcratulations to Northstar and DY. Good job.
Trilliumista on useita materiaalivaihtoehtoja. Tämä yksilö on ultralight -versio. Kanootti on kaupan Welhonpesällä. |
Kolibri on täyteläisempi heti keulan tuntumassa. Toisaalta Trilliumin keula vaikuttaa leikkaavalta ja köli pyöristyy nopeasti ja se lupaa keteryyttä. |
